This project was an ISTD brief titled "The Spaces Between." I decided to focus this project on vacant and derelict buildings in Ireland. Through research, I quickly learned the scale of this problem and was inspired by the sad imagery of decaying buildings. The aim of this project was to shed light on the beauty of these buildings and to inspire designers and architects to realize the potential of these sites. The tone of voice used in this publication is somber and reflects the emptiness and sadness of these buildings, while also conveying them as beautiful and delicate. This project was awarded a Merit in the ISTD Student Assessment 2023.
